was anyone else raised on healthy food only?

I was raised only to eat healthy food, the occasional pizza for partys but never cake. My friends think its funny that when I get hungry, I order roasted chicken or have cravings for sushi and very rarely will have something sugary, I just don't care for the taste.

Anyway, is it that rare that parents raise their children eating healthy? Keep in mind, I NEVER went to McDonalds as a kid and didn't celebrate Halloween.

I can't be the only one.

What can I do to get healthy again?

I am 25 with 2 kids and kept extra weight on after each pregnancy. My last one was born 9 months ago and I still have 13 lbs from this pregnancy. I am a stay at home mom so going taking two kid to go out and exercise outside of the house is normally a real hassle. Any programs that are good, or exercises that really work like yoga or pilates? I really need to get back in shape and set a good, healthy example for my kids.

What do you think of fat parents with fat kids?

Doesn't it make you mad when you see fat parents with fat kids. Ok..so maybe the parents don't mind been fat but y wouldn't they make healthier choices for thier kids.
I was watching an old episode of wife swap today..and the father was feeding his 12 year old son and 14 year old daughter these huge philly cheese steaks..the parents were fat..the kids were fat…when the new mom asked y not make a healthier choice…he said "we are happy the way we are"…it was soo obvious that the teenage girl had no self esteem.

I know with some people it may be an illness or genetics..but for most people its not. I mean a Mom can't say its genetics when you know she is bringing her kids to mcdonalds 6 days a week for example.

what you think ??? why do parents not teach their kids healthy choices from day 1.

My Mom made sure i ate my vegetables and didn't keep much junk food in the house…we got a treat of fast food once a day…candy twice a week…i am sooo thankful that they did this for me….made the teenage years esp easier!

I’m a kid i dont really like salad and i still go to school i want to eat something healthy for lunch what

What am I sick with and how can i keep my kids healthy?

I have been sick for about three days now with a bad cold where i am coughing up mucus, an extremely runny nose, a pretty bad headache, i've been extremely tired, and i've had a fever of about 101 constantly. Does it sound like just a cold or the flu? Only my oldest two children got their flu shots this year, and i have 1 1/2 year old twins that have not. What can I do to make sure they don't get sick with whatever it is I have too? My husband has to go out of town this week for two days, should I send my children to my moms house or try to take care of them myself? Thanks in advance.

Does anyone has a good plan for a kid to keep fit?

My child is a healthy girl. She is a teenager. She eats oatmeal for breakfast and tries really hard to stay off sweets. It drives her crazy. Of course, she eats that cookie, those animal crackers, and some other candies throughout the day, but she is just a kid. However, I can't help but notice how thick her thighs are. She constantly worries about them too. She also cannot seem to keep warm. I think there is something wrong with her metabolism. Any ideas how to keep her fit and healthy?

Whole milk VS lower fat milks, why would a Dr yell about drinking one or the other for kids who have no health

issues. I took 2 of my foster kids to the PCP for a wellness check, kids are relatively healthy, no significant weight issues and are 15 and soon to be 17. The Dr asked what kind of milk they drank, they said whole milk, the doctor started yelling that whole milk was PURE FAT and was bad for their health. Whole milk is NOT PURE FAT, but I can find no reason other than weight issues (they don't have) and health issues like high cholesterol (also don't have). They eat well rounded meals, with vegetables, fruits and whole juices, sodas are an OCCASIONAL treat, their iron levels came back EXCELLENT. I changed to 2 % and OMG they are downright adamant they DON'T like it & think the Dr is full of it. Trying to get them to improve their health & have no argument to give concerning this. I don't care what kind of milk they drink, is there any reason I need to continue torturing them with 2%, or should I keep them on it? I am wondering why I should have them on 2% if they are healthy?
Dr is a SHE.
It is TORTURE to listen to them whine
They have no other health issues
Fat sticks to UNHEALTHY PLAQUE which is produced with TOO MUCH CHOLESTEROL, which neither has
They engage in basketball, Hip Hop Dance classes and gym almost daily
