I have had upper back pain for over a year now. I have slight scoliosis but I don’t think it would be causing me this much pain for so long. I feel like I can’t even sit or stand correctly. I have been to the doctor for this and I was told to go get an mri but my parents do not take me seriously and will not take me. Asprin and Aleve only slighty ease the pain for a few hours. What could this pain be from?

What is the best product to PREVENT wrinkles?

I am 20, and I never go outside without SPF for the most part. I usually wear SPF 30 on my face. I wear eye cream and my main skin problem is pimple marks. However, even though both my parents look young for their ages, my mother is prone to wrinkles around her mouth. (It’s basically the only place she has them) What is the exact brand name of anti-aging product to prevent mouth wrinkles?

I'm a female teen and my parents serve healthy foods for dinner and I eat a small portion. Lunch and breakfast, on the other hand, is up to me. Do you have any suggestions for what I should be eating for breakfast and lunch and in between? Basically from 7am to 6pm (we have dinner later on). Thx! :)

was anyone else raised on healthy food only?

I was raised only to eat healthy food, the occasional pizza for partys but never cake. My friends think its funny that when I get hungry, I order roasted chicken or have cravings for sushi and very rarely will have something sugary, I just don't care for the taste.

Anyway, is it that rare that parents raise their children eating healthy? Keep in mind, I NEVER went to McDonalds as a kid and didn't celebrate Halloween.

I can't be the only one.

What do you think of fat parents with fat kids?

Doesn't it make you mad when you see fat parents with fat kids. Ok..so maybe the parents don't mind been fat but y wouldn't they make healthier choices for thier kids.
I was watching an old episode of wife swap today..and the father was feeding his 12 year old son and 14 year old daughter these huge philly cheese steaks..the parents were fat..the kids were fat…when the new mom asked y not make a healthier choice…he said "we are happy the way we are"…it was soo obvious that the teenage girl had no self esteem.

I know with some people it may be an illness or genetics..but for most people its not. I mean a Mom can't say its genetics when you know she is bringing her kids to mcdonalds 6 days a week for example.

what you think ??? why do parents not teach their kids healthy choices from day 1.

My Mom made sure i ate my vegetables and didn't keep much junk food in the house…we got a treat of fast food once a day…candy twice a week…i am sooo thankful that they did this for me….made the teenage years esp easier!

I am 13 and my brother is 15. He plays basketball 24/7 and our family is CRAZY this summer. Between baseball, and softball, and basketball, and both of my parents working to keep not only their own buisness running, but other jobs also…we need some quick, easy, healthy meals that our family would enjoy. Do you have any suggestions?

Is it just me or is this ridiculous?

My high school runs this program every fall were they call every student down to the nurse’s office and have their height and weight recorded. A few weeks later you will be called down to recieve a letter saying what you are labeled as (underweight, normal, overweight, or obese) I understand that they are just trying to help keep kids healthy, especially with the growing obesity problem in our country, but I still think that weight is a sensitive issue that the schools shouldnt involve themselves in. It makes kids uncomfortable and should be left up to the their doctor…but that isn’t even my issue with it.

My issue is that four times now I have been called down and given a lecture on eating disorders and body image problems WHICH I DON’T HAVE because I am tall and thin. And then a lettter is sent home to my parents and you have to bring it back signed by your pediatrician to prove that you went to the doctor and they say you are okay, or that they are going to deal with the problem. BUT THERE IS NO PROBLEM! i think this is completly ridiculous. I am 5′10″ and weigh about 110-115 pounds. I know that that is reallly skinny but that is how i’ve always been, what am I supposed to do about it. I am happy healthy and full of energy. I play field hockey and tennis, get good grades, and eat very well. There is nothing that shows I have any kind of eating disorder yet I have to go through this silly routine every year. When I complain about it people are always like well, maybe you SHOULD gain some weight or whatever. Sooo annoying. I look fine and feel fine and honestly, I probably eat MORE than i should, if anything lol.

Does anyone else think that is reallllly ridiculous? My mom has called the school about it several times because the school nurse harasses me over it. Once last year I was sick and went to the nurse to call my mom and go home and she said something snarky along the lines of “maybe if you ate more you wouldn’t get sick so easily.”

This unfair and wrong, right??!?!!?!
nope, i live in Massachusetts in Weston, a suburb of Boston

Why is it not child abuse for kids to be overweight?

I don't mean baby fat or chubby kids. I mean children so big they have trouble walking, moving, finding clothes…..why aren't the parents arrested? How is it not child abuse to let a 5 y/o weigh over 100 lbs?
I'm not making fun of overweight ppl, as an adult, you have every right to weigh whatever you want. But as a young child who doesn't understand diets and calories and health issues, its the parents responsibilty to keep kids healthy. Starving a child is illegal, so why is it acceptable to let ppl go to the opposite end of the spectrum? I'm not being mean, I'm serious.
