I've tried the quick weight loss program and lost 40 lbs (gained 10 lbs back). I've also tried fatloss4idiots, atkins, and scarsdale and my weight stays about the same. I try to exercise at least 30 minutes a day, a few days a week, but it's not working. My daily calorie intake is about 1,000, more or less and is very balanced.

Try the Lil Jack Workout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKCGe2Ezris it really works
My mom just started " the zone" her friend is doing it and lost 20 pounds in 2 months!
I'm having this same problem, I wish I could help, I lost 15lbs and it came right back, guess I'll have to try harder, and I wish you the best of luck in your quest.
You could look into the Dr. Phil stuff. I think it's supposed to be more about changing your lifesyle for ever. See what you can find out about it on line before you spend the money. I lost 17 lbs. so far on NutriSystem and I'm really scared that I will gain it all back when I'm back to eating regular food. It costs quite a bit of money and hasn't been easy at times so I really hope I don't blow it.
Hi !
I have answered this question so many times that I now just copy and paste my story !
If you want to loose fat, I suggest eating a well balanced diet.
Grilled or baked lean meats, fruits, fiber, vegetables, water and un – salted nuts.
Exercise 5 days of the week, alternating with cardio and strength training. Do not cross out anything from your " diet", save the 2 days that you do not work out for being able to eat junk foods. You will not over indulge, after 2 weeks of eating a well balanced diet, on the 2 off days you have, you will not want as much junk food.
I lost 105 pounds in 1 year by eating this way.
Atkins is the mother of all abominable diets! Rawr!!
Carbs are key I tell you! It's just healthy carbs you need to eat.
And 'diets' don't work!! They almost always make you lose weight that you gain back. What you need is a healthy lifestyle change.
The reason you probably aren't losing weight is because you aren't eating enough. 1,000 calories a day would slow anyone's metabolism down and make them gain weight! You need AT LEAST 1,500 calories and preferably about a 1,800-2,000 calorie diet to get your metabolism working well and keeping you trim.
My suggestion is to eat a wide variety of healthy foods that are fruits, veggies, whole-grains (No white bread ever!!!), legumes, nuts and seeds. Never over-eat and NEVER starve yourself! If you do that you will only put the pounds on! Eat 5 small meals a day. Don't drink soda pop (especially not diet!!) stay away from sugar, sugar substitutes, fast-food and other junk-foods. Stay away from saturated and trans fats but welcome monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats in moderate amounts.
As for exercise it needs to be consistent and you can't expect rapid results if you want them to be permanent. About 4-10 pounds a month 10 being the max is what you should expect to lose.
I suggest walking for 30-60 minutes EVERY day. About 3-5 days a week you should do some other exercise such as weight lifting, biking, hiking, running, pilates, yoga, dance, etc. Get creative. Even ice-skating, hula-hoop, jump-rope and frisbee are exercise. You should be sure to do toning exercises too as muscle burns more fat. My favorite websites for toning moves are:
Fitnessmagazine.com
Oprah.com
Prevention.com
I also LOVE the sparkpeople swimsuit and new you bootcamp videos. They are a series of 7 videos each that are about 10 minutes long. You simply do one video every day in addition to your walking. You can find them at youtube.com/sparkpeople
And remember you have to be CONSISTENT!! and you have to endure. It's not going to happen in only one month!!
Good luck!
